  I've been designing and manufacturing 3D shopfront signs for 15 years. Writing a signage specification for clients is routine practice. It ensures that everyone quotes on the same materials and each contractor doesn't have to go on site to quote for something they may not get.

  Majors Mulch consulted me in August 2016 regarding shop front signage at her shop in West Wyalong. I explained to her on the phone before her appointment that my consultancy fee was $120 per hour. It was agreed that I would create a draft, scale drawing of the shop front signage detailing dimensions and substrates of the cut out letters proposed so that she could invite contractors to quote on the job. It was also agreed that Majors Mulch would provide measurements of the shop front rather than contract me to travel to West Wyalong and take the measurements.

  She emailed me the following day advising that she didn't want to work with me any further. I have no problem with that - but I do expect to be paid for my consultancy time. I invoiced her for one hour - $120. Despite numerous attempts for me to speak with her she has ignored emails, ignored my phone calls - has made no effort in any way to discuss the matter with me.
